Dresscodes for Postcodes
Dresscodes for Postcodes
Over the Christmas holidays, We were given a project in which we had to self manage based around a particular postcode within London. We were given a choice of postcodes to choose from. I chose E2, which covered areas such as Bethnal Green, Whitechapel - Shoreditch. I also looked in to Brick Lane which is actually E1, but is pretty much on the border, and runs parallel to Commercial Street, which is where I did my shoot. Here are a few photos I took whilst on my travels :
As well as getting a feel for the area, the buildings, housing, restaurants, street signs etc, I wanted to get to know a few of the locals and obviously in particular, people who had an interesting style. Here are some of the people I met on two different occassions of visiting the area:

For the Inglorious Beasties project, we were asked to explore and observe a variety of insects, bugs, critters and creatures that simply cannot help being inglorious. (in some cases terrifying). We all had to come up with a design relevant to our research and then print this using a silk screen across our desired fabric. Once our prints were in place, we had to begin making a garment to then be styled and photographed to compliment the design and remain high fashion but still inglorious. I am still yet to style my garment, but here is some of my development work.
